GENERAL FAQ

Some common questions answered!

Why does it cost so much??

-              It’s a big number… I know… but the cost doesn’t just cover the day like most people think. It covers the day, but also the travel to and from the event, it covers paying for the cameras and lenses (and rentals sometimes), the software I use to edit and share your photos, even the weeks of editing where I may not be getting paid directly. It’s also my business, I need to turn a profit to be able to continue it!

These numbers represent the lowest I can possibly go, whilst also maintaining a quality of work (and a comfortable living experience!)

How long does it take to edit my photos??

-              Usually, my aim is to get the full gallery to you within 7 weeks. Most of the time, I will get it to you WAY sooner because I love getting the images to you asap and getting all those compliments! But there are occasions where I’m fully booked every weekend and mini shoots during the week, so my editing calendar is choca block! So, 7 weeks is for safety!

(obviously you get a few previews in 3 days to keep ya going!)

What happens if I have to cancel the wedding/event?

-              There is a cancellation fee, yes. This is not just me being an ass… it is to cover the day that I would have been making money for and may now not be able to re book. The cancellation fee is £250 (subject to change if the event is more than a day). Anything that is owed back to you will be refunded within 7 working days.

When do I need to pay everything by??

-              There are a few ways you can pay for things. Obviously, there is a 25% booking fee up front with the signed contract to reserve the date. You can do that, and another 50% at the halfway point, and a final 25% a month before the event. This is the way most people tend to do it! Or you can pay in full up front!

Whatever plan you choose, you MUST pay in full before the day of the wedding. I will not be taking photos until the bill is paid for (unless there is a prior agreement)

What happens if photos get lost on the day? (kit failure)

-              It’s the one thing I never want to happen, but unfortunately, kit does fail… Cameras shutters lock, lenses smash, SD cards malfunction… It has happened before, and it will happen again… I do my absolute best to keep backups throughout the day, shooting on multiple cameras and cards, so if something does fail, I will hopefully only loose a handful of images!

If more than that is lost and it significantly affects the outcome of the deliverables, you will be refunded 75% of the payment to cover lost images.

Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that though!

What happens if one of my key guests doesn’t want to be in photos?

-              This is a tough one. We always want our loved ones in our photos, but unfortunately some people simply don’t like being on camera! I’m one of those people! I will never force someone to be in a photo. It creates a bad vibe trying to get someone into a shot when they really don’t want to. I will always ask, maybe have a chat with them to see what they are uncomfortable with, try work something out to get them into it! But that is where I will draw the line! If they don’t wanna, then that’s all good!

Can I buy you a drink whilst you’re shooting??

-              A fizzy drink! Yes! All day every day! A Coffee? I will love you forever! But as much as I would love to do shots with you, or “split the G” on a Guinness at the bar; I am at work. I don’t consume any kind of alcohol when I’m on the job. I also tend to drive to and from the event so that would be breaking the law! It’s always super sweet of you guys for offering though! Ill happily take photos of you necking ‘my’ shot!

Do we have to provide food for you?

-              You don’t have to. Bespoke meals are expensive! I get it! If you want to feed me, please do! I am a bottomless pit! (make sure its vegan though!). Just let me know in advance, otherwise ill bring my own lil packed lunch! (I will usually take my food break whilst you guys have sat down for your meal, which is required! I need fuel!)

What if something changes that’s out of my control? Like Weather?

-              Honestly, if it starts to rain, and you see me smiling? I’m not an ass! I promise! Just know, that if you’re willing to get a little wet… you will end up with some of the BEST photos of you EVER! I’m smiling because I’m excited.

But in all honesty, don’t worry! Most venues have an indoor space, or a drier location that we can use to take some amazing photos. Just don’t let it ruin your day! There’s always a plan B!
